Carbon Nexus is a world leading, vertically integrated collaborative R&D facility.
Supported by the Victorian State Government under the Victorian Science Agenda (VSA) Strategic Fund and also by the Australian Government through the Education Investment Fund, the $34m centre is being developed by Deakin University and the Victorian Centre for Advanced Materials Manufacturing (VCAMM).
Carbon Nexus is creating an international centre of excellence for fibre science, materials and manufacturing research and is enhancing Australia’s capacity in the carbon fibre industry.
The centre will soon incorporate a 20 ton p.a. Carbon Fibre Pilot Line as well as a Single-Tow Research Line from Despatch Industries, in addition to a range of state of the art, fully equipped research laboratories.
